Human Connection: Can It Really Increase My Bottom Line?

The anthem of the online space right now is SCALING. So many Founders are looking to grow and expand their business in a powerful way. And with that focus in mind, they are looking for ways to acquire new leads and clientele across their brand. In order to do so, many are focusing on:

Omnichannel marketing plans - to get visible

Proactive lead generation - to open up direct conversations

Sales strategies - to convert at a higher rate

All of which we prioritize both within our brand as well as alongside our Private Clients. But there is a huge opportunity missing from this lineup.

Expanding your network.

Here’s what I’ve noticed: somewhere along the way, we have convinced ourselves that scaling is hard. Sales are hard. Acquiring new leads is hard. And because of that belief, we feel like our approaches to growth must be complex and time-consuming.

This is why we want to start by prioritizing approaches like omnichannel marketing or paid advertising or fancy funnels - it affirms our belief that scaling has to be complex.

And although these approaches can be effective, they work best for established brands with strong foundations (vs beginner and messy-middle entrepreneurs).

There is a way to grow (and further diversify your growth efforts) that is extremely simple, powerful, and effective.

It is through quality connection with other human beings across complimentary industries.

If your goal is to get more visible, increase your bottom line, and scale your business, I urge you to focus on expanding your network. Here are a few ways to get started:

Casual Collaborations

Ready to get more visible? Combine forces with people in your existing sphere for casual collaborations. Some examples of this could be:

Co-Lives on Instagram

Guest Blogging

Guest Podcasting

Speaking in their Programs

The ultimate benefit here is to get in front of a whole new community, increasing the visibility of your brand and further establishing your credibility.

I always recommend that our clients start their Casual Collaborations with a handful of “easy yes” individuals. These are people that you are most likely already connected to and / or have an established relationship with.

When presenting the opportunity, be sure to showcase:

  1. How you can be of value to their community (service first always)
  2. How this can be mutually beneficial (what’s in it for them?)

Strategic Partnerships

Beyond Casual Collaborations, you can delve into more formal and strategic partnerships with mutual benefit for each party involved.

What does this look like? Let’s cover a hypothetical example:

Let’s say Lily is a Hormone Expert and Mallory is a fitness trainer. Lily’s clientele is often working on ways to balance their hormones and increase their overall energy. Although she primarily specializes in hormone balance and dietary support, her clients regularly need support with their fitness.

On the flipside, Mallory’s clientele is regularly working on optimizing their fitness, but they would love support in hormone balance, dietary guidance, and increasing their energy.

So, Lily and Mallory decide to form a Strategic Partnership. They agree to send each other their clients (as support is needed) for a % of the sale.

See how that works?

This opens up an entirely new lead and revenue source for EACH of their businesses! Not to mention - the conversion rate will most likely be high on each end because there is already an element of trust built (since they have been personally referred by a trusted source).

Networking Opportunities

How do you form relationships that open up doors for these types of opportunities? By putting yourself out there. Getting in the room with other Founders. Striking up conversations. And being open to connect.

Social media makes this so accessible. But beyond that, you can attend networking events, retreats, and even book in some casual connection calls.

Ultimately, the door won’t open unless you walk up to it and turn the knob, right?

So, to answer the question: “Human connection, can it really increase my bottom line?” Yes. Yes, it can.

It’s time to get off of your island, walk up to the door, and take the initiative to get in the room.
